About Us
The Victoria New Horizons Amateur Radio Club was founded on Armistice Day 1977. The Department of Health & Welfare through the “New Horizons Program” provided funding for our equipment.
Regular membership is open to all RETIRED persons holding a valid Certificate of Proficiency in Radio.
The club’s repeater, VE7RSR, is a Motorola Micor unit that is presently located on Mt. McDonald in the vicinity of Goldstream Park on the outskirts of Victoria. It transmits on 145.41 MHz and receives on 144.81 MHz.
It wasn’t until July 7, 1980 that the club was incorporated under the Societies Act of the Province of British Columbia.
